Editorial policy
Our aim is to make film form understandable without overstating what a scene proves. We explain our reasoning, correct errors openly and keep editorial decisions separate from commercial arrangements.
Accuracy and interpretation
We check names, titles and factual details against suitable sources before publication. Interpretations are presented as readings, not settled facts, and we take care to distinguish what a film shows from what a writer infers. Where a claim cannot be established with confidence, we narrow it or leave it out.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers and the subject, not to secure a commercial mention. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage, and collaborators do not control independent editorial conclusions.
Corrections
Readers can flag a possible error through the Contact page. We review specific, checkable concerns and amend material when warranted; significant changes are identified clearly in the affected article.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, gifted or otherwise arranged partner material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations are AI-generated; where relevant, captions identify them, and illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence.
Close attention makes films richer
Film choices shape what we notice, expect and feel. We explain those choices in clear language, leaving room for viewers to reach their own readings.
